Batata nashta recipe | aloo snacks recipe | potato stuffed snacks

Batata nashta is an easy and tasty snack made of boiled potatoes, wheat flour, vegetables, and regular spices. These Crispy golden potato fritters are filled with vegetable or cheese stuffing and loved by all kinds of age groups.  So with a few basic ingredients try out potato snacks and served them as tea-time snacks.

Ingredients
 

For aloo snacks

  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • ½ cup or 1 medium size chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped capsicum
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp amchur powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ¾ cup wheat flour

For stuffing

  • 2 tbsp mashed potatoes
  • 3 tbsp boiled sweet corn
  • 2 tbsp green peas
  • 3 tbsp chopped carrot
  • Some coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup grated paneer
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • Or
  • 2 cheese cubes slices

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add boiled potatoes and mash with a masher.
  • Then take out 2 tbsp mashed potatoes into a mixing bowl.
  • Now add chopped onion, capsicum, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chilli flakes, garam masala, amchur powder, salt and oil. Mix well.
  • Add wheat flour and form a dough of mixture.
  • Grease your hand with oil; take some potato mixture and round it into a ball shape.
  • For stuffing, in a mixing bowl, add mashed potatoes, corn, carrot, green peas, coriander leaves, paneer, salt, black pepper and chaat masala. Mix well. Or you can cut a thin slice from cheese cubes.
  • Now roll the potato dough ball into a round shape, add some stuffing on one side, and then brings the sides together to bind it. Firmly seal the sides to form a semi-circle.
  • Prepare all the snacks in the same way.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the snacks, and fry them on medium-low flame until they are browned and crisp from all sides.
  • Serve crispy aloo snacks with chutney and tomato sauce.

Notes

  • cool down boiled potatoes completely for snack mixture.
  • wheat flour helps to bind snacks properly.
  • fry aloo snacks on medium-low flame.
