Mawa peda is smooth and melts in the mouth. This is a trial and tested recipe that helps to make perfect mawa peda like the ones we get in halwai or Indian sweet shops. It requires only 2 ingredients and does not involve a complex process. This method yield perfect halwai-style smooth mawa peda at home.

Mawa peda recipe | how to make khoya peda | peda recipe
Ingredients
- 250 grms or 2.5 cup mawa - khoya
- 100 grms or ยฝ cup sugar
- ยผ cup water
- ยผ tsp cardamom powder
- Garnish with pista slits
Instructions
- In a heavy bottom pan, add sugar and water.
- Mix well and on medium flame cook sugar syrup until it reaches 2-string consistency.
- Add mawa and cardamom powder. Mix well on low flame.
- When peda mixture leaves the sides of the pan then switch off the gas
- Allow to cool down the mixture and smooth peda mixture.
- Now take some mixture in hand and make a round shape peda from it.
- Garnish peda with pistachio slits and serve.
Notes
- Sugar syrup should have 2 string consistency.
- Do not overcook peda mixture otherwise peda become chewy.
